ANICA have announced the winner of their 2014 WAHO Trophy, which was awarded in a public ceremony at the 2015 National Show in Verona, is the brave little endurance mare, Cala Moresca – known to her many admirers and friends as Cherra.

Winner and well placed in many endurance competitions over the longer distances, including the Italian Championship title, it is particular noteworthy that at the age of 16 she won a major 2-day ride of 100 kms + 100 kms. Now retired from competition, she is starting a new career as a broodmare. As her owner Chiara Rosi said at the presentation:
“Cherra never fails to make me emotional. I am proud for her to receive this recognition, the result of years of work, sacrifice and great satisfaction. I am proud to have been able to create a perfect match with this mare, able to grow over the years and to reach ever higher targets. 11 consecutive years of competing in endurance seem to have flown by and the memories that stay in my heart are infinite, like all the things that she was able to teach me.
