The Dutch Arab Horse Society (AVS) has awarded their 2015 WAHO Trophy to the outstanding mare of ‘straight Russian’ pedigree, the lovely Abakana Kossack. She is the last daughter of the outstanding Aswan daughter Amunitia, who died when Abakana was only 2 weeks old.

Recognized as one of the best broodmares in the Netherlands, Abakana Kossack is the pride and joy of her home stud. She has 1st premium mare and Elite broodmare status in the AVS categories. She is the queen of the current Kossack Stud breeding programme, among the best of Balaton’s daughters and a full sister to the successful breeding stallion, Abakan. She herself has an excellent show record, having been a regular class winner over the years, often with a prize winning foal at her side, as well as claiming three Silver Champion titles, and two Bronze Champion titles at the major shows in Holland – including National Silver Champion Senior Mare in 2009 and Bronze Champion Senior Mare in 2010.
